Pickleball Court Construction

Elevate your backyard and take your sports skills to the next level with professional pickleball court construction from Sports Construction Group! Described as the perfect blend between badminton, ping pong, and tennis, pickleball is an increasingly popular American game that’s now enjoyed by players all over Australia.
As a low-impact activity with a playing space just one-third the size of a tennis court, pickleball is a particularly great paddle sport for beginners. If you’re looking for a way to keep fit and have fun with the whole family, our dedicated pickleball court builders are ready to turn your backyard dreams into reality.

What is involved in the pickleball court construction process?
Our builders will aim to have your new pickleball court finished and ready to use within two months of our work commencing. To help you stay well-informed about our overall process, we have outlined the six most important steps below:
- Inspecting your property to determine the best placement for your pickleball court
- Taking you through our customisable court options to help you finalise the design
- Drawing up your court plans and providing you with a comprehensive quote
- Commencing all necessary earthworks and installing the concrete slab
- Painting or tiling the cured slab with your chosen surface design
- Installing the netting, fences, and any other finishing touches

How much space is required?
A standard pickleball court measures 44 feet long by 20 feet wide. However, it’s also important to consider the excess space needed around the court for when the ball is hit out of bounds, or you need to run off the court.
To comfortably engage in a game of pickleball, we recommend installing an overall play area of 34 feet long by 64 feet wide. Once you’re confident your backyard has the space, our team will work with you to determine the best location for your new court.
Can I customise my court in any way?
At Sports Construction Group, we offer a range of customisable options to ensure you receive a final court design that perfectly meets your needs. We can customise any of the following aspects:
- Surface material: Select either a painted or tiled finish for your pickleball court
- Court colour: Choose from unlimited paint colours or 12 tiled surface colours
- Floor design: Opt for crisp block colours, a unique logo, or multiple sports court line markings
- Fixed Fencing: Customise your fencing with both top and bottom rails, various colour options, and different post diameters

Our Work

what to do
Maintaining your backyard pickelball court

Maintaining a backyard sports court is simple. Remove leaves with a blower to keep the court clear of debris. Use a hose or pressure washer a few times a year to remove build-up of dirt & algae on the courts surface. If there are a lot of trees surrounding your court this will increase the amount of cleaning and maintenance.
We install fully-galvanised post systems that will last.
